Angelina Rifle and Pistol Club
We had a pretty good turnout this month considering the weather was pretty nasty. We had 15 shooters who shot 31 targets.

I shot plinker through unlimited with my Thompson Contender Mach 2 (HM2). I has a 14” barrel with the new G2 frame. I have a Tasco target 24 power scope on it (adjusted down to 9 power to shoot the Plinker class and then up to 24 power for the rest of the classes). I used CCI Mach 2 ammo for the plinker target and Eley Mach 2 ammo for the rest of the matches. Hardly any wind. It was a great day to shoot.
Notice that the scores on the 19th are lower than normal. We have some of our shooters trying out new ammo and new rifles. Several of them have custom and unlimited rifles, but not sporter rifles. We also had two new shooters. Summer coming and we should start having bigger turn outs.
Want to give a special thanks to Dennis DiFeo for putting my perfect score on the internet. It has been fun looking at the comments that have been made. Thanks Dennis and we are planning on coming down for a match with you guys. We are looking at your May 9th match.

Here are the results of our March 5th match. We had a good turn out with 10 shooters.
The big news as you all know by now is my Pistol score of 250 15x.
We had a rainy and windy day. That was good it made us concentrate harder on the basics of shooting.

Cold day for shooting. It was a nice clear day. I was playing with ammo and did not do such a good job, but I would rather learn now instead at a big match. We had about 8 shooters, which is about the average for the winter. It will pick up in the summer.

The cash cans were won by Harry Barry and Charlie Free. The gift certificates were won by Mike Hutchins and Jenna Skinner, Parker Ford , Cecil Brewer, Mitch and Bradley Baker won the door prizes. We had one new shooter- Bradley Baker from Lufkin. Everyone seemed to have fun despite the unexpected cold. Harry came up and took our money back to Houston with him; talked a little noise to which we responded back with our usual. I think we won. We missed Charles Bailey who won everything last year. I guess he was scared. He better start practicing because Harry has come loaded for bear this year. Richard Bumpus missed out this month with the flu. Remember we have a work day coming up on March 7 at 8:30 am. Until next month keep it in the 10.

It was really cold shooting yesterday. It was in the high twenties, but we still managed to get 8 shooters and one of them was new. The scores were acceptable, but we had a lot of cold trigger fingers.

I shot my matches yesterday and then went to the indoor range and shot from 3:00pm until 7:30 pm. I find that with shooting you have to keep up the practice so you keep up the muscle memory.

It was cold shooting yesterday and I do mean cold. We had 8 shooters with one new shooter. Says he will be back. The day was clear with a little wind and the sky was clear and hardly any clouds. Scores were not to bad. My shooting partner won the match. With a 239 and I took second with a 237.
At our club we kept track of match winners and we also have club records. It does make it more enjoyable for the shooters to have something to shoot for.
Hope 2009 has started off good for all of you and we are looking at a great year of USBR shooting.

We had 8 shooters show up. It was a rainy windy day. The only thing that saved us was the wind flags we have set up on the left side of the range all the way to the 50yd line. We still had some respectable scores.
We are really looking forward to a great shooting season at Clark Rifles, Inc. We have made it a goal this year, to get down to Eugene, and shoot with Dennis and his group.
